Burnham
Community Association is a local charity, established in 1966 as Burnham
Council of Social Service.
Our
aims:
Working
for the benefit of the community in the civil parish of Burnham and its
immediate district, BCA’s aims are:
1. To act as a link between individuals, groups and organisations that are active in the community
- by providing opportunities to meet together
- by acting as a local forum for the exchange of information, ideas and experience
- by participating in consultations and discussions and by presenting where appropriate the views of local people to statutory authorities.
2.
To give practical assistance in the form of information, transport and social
support services
BCA’s
current activities include:

Access Group – promoting access and mobility for disabled people. Produces Burnham Area Information and Access Directory | |

Advice
and Information Centre
– dealing with a wide range of enquiries from members of the public | |

Round
and About – our
community newspaper produced six times a year | |

Community
Lunches –
providing the opportunity for people with an interest in the local community to
meet together informally | |

Carnival
– a summer event for the whole village organised in partnership with the
Rotary Club of Burnham | |

Charities
Fair – an
annual event giving local charities the opportunity to raise funds and publicise
their work | |

Monday
Club – weekly
older people’s social club | |

Good
Neighbour Scheme
– transport to hospital and health appointments | |

Minibus
– available for
hire by local community groups | |

High
Street Transport Noticeboard
– providing information about local
bus services |
