Dental Services

Entitlement to Free NHS Treatment

The following groups of people are currently entitled to free NHS dental treatment:

    - Children and young people under 18 years of age.

    - Those under 19 who are in full time education.

    - Women who are pregnant or who have a baby under 12 months old.

    - Those in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Income Support.

    - Some people in receipt of Working Families Tax Credit or Disabled   
      Persons Tax Credit.

    - Families with a certificate for full help with the cost of NHS services.

The Community Dental Service can offer basic treatment at home to people who are unable to get out due to illness or disability.

Finding a dentist with whom you feel comfortable is important. Ask your family or friends if they can recommend a dentist.
