The following poems were all written jointly by the children and Perry House residents in 2006.

They very much depict the joyful mood and thought provoking moments shared by all on this project

Perry House is special in many ways
We like to visit on Wednesdays
From the time we arrive and they open the door
There is fun and laughter and so much more.

 ............

We learn about life in the olden days
So different now in many ways
When things were on ration and hard to buy
But now the supermarkets can supply
.

............

From 70’s to 90’s their ages range
To us it can all seem very strange
As we learn of the war from those who were there
Remembering a time when life was not so fair.

............

The children from school we like to see
We chat and have a cup of tea
They laugh and joke and sing and play
We all wish they could just stay.

............

We talk of the war and days gone by
And still we try to reason why
Wars are won and wars are lost
Then we try to count the cost.

............

But don’t let our tales of yesterday
Influence the way you behave today
Enjoy life and live it to the full!
That’s our message to you all!
