Dental Services

NHS or Private Treatment

In the UK, there are two types of dental service available - NHS or private. As a private patient, you will either pay for the full cost of your treatment as you need it - or alternatively your dentist may recommend that you join a dental health care plan. With these plans, a regular fixed payment is made and in return you receive the routine care and treatment you require generally without further payment.

If you find a dentist willing to take you on as an NHS patient, you can register for a period of 15 months. You will need to re-register every 15 months. As NHS patient you will pay part of the cost of your treatment unless you are entitled to free NHS dental treatment.
