The Burnham Health Promotion Trust

Transport Projects

The Trust has actively supported a number of transport related projects including:

Good Neighbour Scheme Re-launch - (in partnership with Burnham Community Association 2003)

Bus Information - (in partnership with Burnham Community Association)

Shopping Trips for Older People - Thanks to the help of a volunteer driver it was possible in 2001 to re-start a weekly shopping service using the Burnham Community Association minibus. Passengers who would otherwise find it difficult to get to a large supermarket are collected from and returned to their homes. This scheme is now run by the Burnham Community Association.

Shown here is a recent photo of the group with the mini-bus and its driver in the forecourt of Asda Slough immediately before their run back to their individual homes.

In addition to the above projects, many other local groups have made successful applications to the Trust for financial support of their own existing, or new, transport related projects. These include:

Burnham Good Neighbour Scheme - A grant was made in 2000 for this hospital transport scheme

South Bucks District Council - Get Out and About Scheme

South Bucks District Council Concessionary Bus Passes - 1999 - 2000
